  • Method: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 lean)
  • 1 (1 oz) packet Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 (8-count) can Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened (optional, for extra creamy filling)
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Cooking spray or 1 tsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease. Add the taco seasoning mix and 1/4 cup water, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the liquid has mostly evaporated. If using cream cheese, stir it into the taco meat until melted and well combined.
  2. Step 2: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  3. Step 3: Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the seasoned taco meat mixture onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese over the meat.
  4. Step 4: Roll the crescent dough from the wide end towards the pointed end, completely enclosing the filling to form a "bomb." Pinch the edges of the dough firmly to seal, ensuring no filling leaks out.
  5. Step 5: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush the taco bombs with a little olive oil. Place the taco bombs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded (you may need to cook in batches).
  6. Step 6: Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through. Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite taco toppings like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.

Notes

  • Store any cooled leftover taco bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
  • For the best re-crisping, pop chilled taco bombs back into the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for about 5-7 minutes, or until deliciously golden and hot throughout.
  • Serve these cheesy delights with a fun dipping bar, including classic salsa and sour cream, plus a zesty avocado ranch or a spicy queso dip for extra flair!
  • For an irresistibly creamy and rich interior, definitely don't skip that optional cream cheese in your taco filling – it takes the flavor and texture to a whole new level!
