Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
  • 1 cup mixed berries (frozen preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 scoop (approx. 15g) vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare all your ingredients. Ensure the banana is peeled and frozen, and the mixed berries are frozen for the best cold and creamy texture. Measure out the fresh spinach, almond milk, chia seeds, and protein powder if you are using it.
  2. Step 2: Begin by adding the liquid base to your blender. Pour the 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk into the blender pitcher first.
  3. Step 3: Carefully add the remaining solid ingredients into the blender: the frozen banana, frozen mixed berries, fresh spinach, chia seeds, and the optional protein powder. Top with the 1/2 cup of ice cubes.
  4. Step 4: Secure the lid onto your blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and free of any spinach chunks or berry pieces. If the smoothie is too thick to blend, add 1-2 tablespoons of additional almond milk and blend again until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Step 5: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding a small amount of honey or maple syrup, then blend for a few more seconds. Pour the healthy smoothie into a glass and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Enjoy your smoothie immediately for the best creamy texture and nutrient benefits; any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours, just give it a good shake before sipping.
  • This smoothie is designed to be enjoyed cold; reheating is not recommended as it will drastically alter the texture and fresh flavors, so embrace its chilled deliciousness.
  • Elevate your serving by pouring the smoothie into a chilled glass and garnishing with a few extra chia seeds or a couple of fresh berries for a beautiful finish.
  • For an even greater nutritional punch, feel free to double the fresh spinach; its mild flavor is beautifully disguised by the fruits, making it an undetectable superfood boost.
